About

This website is a compilation of a senior research project I conducted for a course I completed at UCT. This project focuses on the serious problems that exist within South Africas water and sanitation systems. The country is a highly unequal society, and this is reflected through the lack in basic water and sanitation for thousands of poor and disadvantaged communities across the country. This site provides detailed articles regarding these issues, current statistics, and a gallery.

Who am I ?

Thato Mlambo

I am a student at the University of Cape Town, completing a bachelor of arts degree in Multimedia production, majoring in film and media studies. I have a passion for telling stories through writing or visual platforms which is what inspired my studies in film and media. Outside of academic life, I enjoy watching good documentaries, physical exercise at the gym or going on a hike and reading.

Thabo Rathaba

Thabo Rathaba is a UCT student who is studying Bcom Information Systems. This project would not have been possible if it  weren't for the help of my fellow pupil who helped take pictures and videos of an informal settlement in his home province - Free State.

Sinalo Bambeni

Sinalo Bambeni is a student at the University of Cape Town and is studying a BSocSci majoring in Psychology and Organisational Psychology. She helped navigate our way around Khayelitsha township so I would be able to take images of the areas sanitation conditions.
